A quaint little place in Oshiwara, Pratap Da Dhaba is every bit the quintessential Punjabi Dhaba you find almost anywhere in Punjab. It has the right ambience, the greatest food and some great Pan Shots to go at the end of a wholesome meal!
The minute you enter Pratap's, you will be greeted with a lot of Punjabi Statues that set the mood. If you sit out in the open, you can relax in the wickerwork chairs and breathe in the fresh air. Once you're comfortably settled in and cross legged, you'll be ready to fill your stomach with the delicious food. They serve drinks too, so if Beer and Biryani are your thing, you've come to the right place.
First up, let's talk Starters.
We ordered for Tandoori Chicken, Malai Kebabs and Hariyali Kebabs all of which appealed to my taste buds right away. Sprinkle some 'nimbu' and have it with onions while you drink that beer.
Once we were sated with starters, we moved on to the main course with Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, Kali Daal and White Rice. Can I just say, that this place has one of the most amazing plates of Butter Chicken I've ever had! It has a lot of cream, and you won't like it as much if you don't like cream, but it does have the 'lick your fingers clean' type feeling.
At the end of the meal, they serve you these Paan Shots that are good too!
All in all, the food was worth every penny I spent. It's a little on the expensive side, but I bet it's worth it. If you're not in a mood to cook or eat home made food, or you're just looking to get out, go to Pratap's and experience being in Punjab!
